Good evening,
The changes and impacts of COVID-19 continue and we all hope that the recent news will not detract from the remainder of the
2020-2021 surf life saving season.
It is for this reason like all Clubs we are continually adapting and working to give our Club and its members the best opportunities to participate in surf life saving surf sports events.
The transition from 2020 into 2021 involves preparation for carnivals, including major championships such as Hunter Branch Championships; NSW Age, Open, and Lifesaving/Masters; and Aussies. In coming days we will be provided the 2021 Hunter Branch Championship draft program for U9-U14 and U15-Opens/Masters; and the 2021 NSW State Championships Entry Circular.
We are moving towards carnivals that involve selections for team-based events.
The updated CHLS&SC Competition Code of Conduct and Selection Policy is attached. It has been a collaboration of effort and work by several people. I ask competitors and their parents/carers to make themselves familiar with its contents.
The essence of competition is fair play, enjoyment, effort and teamwork. Probably more than ever before we need to be united and to work together to achieve our goals.
The 2021 Manly Nipper Nats and the 2021 Manly/Freshwater Australia Day long weekend carnivals are selection carnivals. The entry circulars are yet to be released.
For U15 to Open competitors we are awaiting confirmation but planning is underway for future carnivals at Swansea-Belmont in February and March 2021 that will supplement the season.
The jotform link is for completion by all competitors and their parents/carers and refers to the acknowledgement form on page 9 of the Policy.
The carnival event survey component will assist with planning for the upcoming 2021 carnivals. For the NSW State Championships you must decide to do either Beach or Water events but not both.
Please complete the jotform by 28th December 2020.
